The Moraga Candidates Night, organized by the Moraga Citizens Network, is set to take place on Tuesday, October 6, at the Soda Center at Saint Mary's College in Moraga. The event will bring together candidates for the Moraga Town Council, the Moraga-Orinda Fire District, and two school boards in a single evening, providing a comprehensive platform for voters to meet and question their potential representatives.

This forum is a significant opportunity for local residents to engage directly with candidates and understand their platforms and commitments. The structured schedule allows attendees to focus on specific races, making it easier for those who are particularly interested in one area of governance to participate effectively. The event is designed to foster a deeper understanding of the issues facing Moraga and to encourage informed voting.

The Moraga Citizens Network, a local nonprofit dedicated to civic engagement, has organized this event to ensure that residents have a clear and accessible way to interact with candidates. The network has a history of promoting community involvement and has previously hosted similar forums to facilitate dialogue between residents and elected officials. This event is a continuation of their efforts to strengthen civic participation in Moraga.

The forum runs from 6:30 to 9:15 p.m. in the Soda Center's Moraga Room. Town Council candidates will appear at 7 p.m., followed by candidates for District 3 of the Moraga-Orinda Fire District at 8:15 p.m. The evening concludes with candidates for the Moraga School District and Acalanes Union High School District governing boards at 8:45 p.m., though these races are uncontested. Refreshments will be served, and residents can submit questions in advance through a form on the Moraga Citizens Network's website, which closes on September 30.

Residents who cannot attend in person can participate remotely by watching the forum live on Zoom. The network will stream the event and post the link on their website. For those who wish to submit questions or view the schedule, the Moraga Citizens Network's site at moragacitizensnetwork.org is the go-to resource. The event offers a unique chance for Moraga residents to engage with their future leaders and to ensure their voices are heard in the upcoming elections.
