Putter's Mini Golf, the outdoor miniature golf course at 1275 S. California Blvd. in Walnut Creek, will close permanently after Sunday, Nov. 29, as the site prepares for residential redevelopment, Patch reported Monday.

Owners Sean and Carolyn first launched Putter's Mini Golf during the COVID-19 pandemic inside an unused courtyard on Locust Street before relocating the course to the corner of South California Boulevard and Botelho Drive, alongside a former music store and a former KFC building.

"Sadly, Putter's Mini Golf will be closing after Nov. 29," the owners announced on the business's website and social media pages, as reported by Patch. "The property is being redeveloped. Come enjoy playing a round on a sunny fall day or under the lights on a crisp fall evening while you still can."

Planned Seven-Story Fairfield Centre Place South Project

According to city planning documents presented to the Walnut Creek Design Review Commission on June 17, the corner property at South California Boulevard and Botelho Drive is slated to be redeveloped into Fairfield Centre Place South.

The project plans call for a seven-story residential building containing 172 rental apartments above a three-level parking garage. Of the 172 apartments, 26 units will be designated as affordable housing for low- and moderate-income households. Planning records are available through the City of Walnut Creek.

Course Equipment Up for Bid Ahead of December Pickup

Ahead of the Nov. 29 closure, the owners announced that nearly all course fixtures and equipment are being sold to the highest bidder, with pickup or delivery scheduled for the first week of December.

Items available for purchase include the putting greens, bricks, golf clubs, balls, scorecards, storage shed, signs, flags, lights, and outdoor chairs.
